Have you been to a mechanic and wondered about their experience? Whenever you visit any service department or vehicle repair shop, you should look for the ASE certification logo. This blue certification symbolizes that the mechanic is an expert in auto repairs and has passed a specialty exam in order to receive this certification.

There are two types of certifications. You’ll want to look for a regular ASE certification in most mechanic shops, but individual technicians can also be ASE master mechanics. The regular ASE certification is required to work in most shops. This means that you have over two years of experience working in auto repair, and you’ve passed a specialty examination.

You’ll notice that Thys Motor Company in Belle Plaine, IA has ASE master certifications, which means that our technicians can work on truck equipment, engine mechanics, collision repair, school buses, and various other heavy trucks or body repairs from accidents.
